Trailer Rental Consignment Requirements

Age & Usage Guidelines

 

  • Trailer age and condition are evaluated together
  • High-mileage or older trailers may be accepted if well-maintained
  • Specialty or commercial trailers are reviewed on a case-by-case basis
  • Acceptance is based on rental demand and safety, not age alone.

Trailer Condition Requirements

Minimum standards include:

  • Structurally sound frame and tongue

  • Operational coupler, safety chains, and jack

  • Functional lights, wiring, and reflectors

  • Roadworthy tires with sufficient tread and proper load rating

  • Working brakes (if equipped)

  • Secure doors, ramps, gates, and latches

  • No major rust, cracks, or structural damage

Ownership & Documentation Requirements

  • Trailer owner must provide proof of ownership

  • Valid title or manufacturer’s certificate of origin (if applicable)

  • Trailer must be free of liens or encumbrances unless disclosed and approved

  • Owner must be authorized to enter into a consignment agreement

Prohibited Trailers

  • Trailers with known safety defects

  • Homemade trailers without documentation

  • Trailers modified outside of manufacturer specifications

  • Trailers with unresolved mechanical or structural issues

Branding & Modifications

  • Trailers may display company branding or identification during consignment

  • Permanent modifications require owner approval

  • Owner-installed branding must not conflict with rental visibility or safety
