2 Booking & Payment

What you need to reserve, pay for, and manage your rental.

What is required to rent a trailer? ▾

You can reserve a trailer by calling us at (936) 647-1414 or using our online booking system. To complete your reservation, have the following ready:

  • First and last name (or company name, if applicable)
  • Phone number and email address
  • Current physical address
  • Trailer size and type
  • Pick-up date and time, plus length of rental
  • Valid driver's license

Important: All reservations must be signed and paid via our secure payment link within 24 hours of booking. Unpaid or unsigned reservations are automatically canceled — a reservation is only confirmed once signed and paid in full.

What forms of payment are accepted? ▾

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. The name on your credit or debit card must match the name on your driver's license. No cash payments are accepted.

Rentals can be for no longer than 14 consecutive days. A $150 deposit is required for all trailer rentals via credit card to protect our equipment and ensure a smooth rental experience.

Is a deposit required to rent a trailer? ▾

Yes. A deposit is required on all trailer rentals and is refundable after return, provided:

  • The trailer and supplies are returned in the same condition as at pick-up
  • All included items (ramps, keys, etc.) are returned with the trailer
  • There's no renter-caused tire damage or damage beyond normal wear and tear

If repair costs exceed the deposit, the additional amount is charged to the card on file. The entire deposit is forfeited if the trailer's GPS tracking device is tampered with, altered, or destroyed during the rental.

How do I rent a trailer? ▾

Renting from Tow-N-Go is a simple 4-step process:

  • Browse: View trailer options and pricing online
  • Reserve: Book online or call (936) 647-1414
  • Pick Up: Arrive with valid ID, proof of insurance, and your tow vehicle
  • Return: Drop off at your scheduled time — fast, friendly check-in
What is the cancellation policy? ▾

All cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to the start of your reservation for a 100% refund and cancellation of the rental contract.

Can I extend my trailer rental? ▾

Yes — notify us at least 24 hours in advance. Payment in full is required at the time of the extension. Late returns incur another day's charge if the trailer isn't returned within 30 minutes of the scheduled return time.

3 Towing & Vehicle Requirements

Make sure your tow vehicle is properly equipped before pick-up.

What truck size and tow package do I need? ▾

A ½-ton truck or larger is recommended for most moving trailers. Dump trailer rentals require a ¾-ton truck. Check your manufacturer's specifications if you're unsure of your towing capacity.

A Class IV hitch or tow package rated for the trailer's gross vehicle weight (GVW) is strongly recommended. Tongue weight is typically 10–15% of the combined trailer and cargo load. A ball mounted directly to a bumper is unsafe and should never be used for towing.

Don't have the right vehicle? Enterprise Truck Rentals offers tow-ready pickup trucks with proper tow packages and 7-pin light plug connections at competitive rates.

What ball size and light plug do I need? ▾

Double axle trailers require a 2 5/16" ball and have electric brakes on both axles. Single axle trailers use a 2" ball and do not have trailer brakes.

Most trailers use a 7-pin round light plug (7-pin RV plug, 6 outer pins + 1 center pin) — without a compatible plug, trailer brakes will not function. Single axle trailers use a 4-flat light plug (no brakes).

Need a ball and mount? We offer towing equipment rentals with a 10,000 lb tongue weight rating for a one-time fee of $15.

Do I need a brake controller? ▾

A brake controller is required in your tow vehicle to rent a tandem (double) axle trailer. Without one, the trailer's brakes will not engage, creating a serious safety risk. Single-axle trailers do not require a brake controller.

4 Driver Requirements

What are the driver requirements? ▾

All rentals require the renter to have a valid driver's license issued by the state — identification cards are not accepted in place of a license. All renters or drivers must be at least 21 years of age.

If renting a trailer with a GVWR of 10,000 pounds or more, you'll need to show proof of a valid Class A CDL license.

5 Insurance & Rental Protection

Do I need insurance to rent a trailer? ▾

Yes, proof of insurance is required. Rental protection is included with all rentals.

What is rental protection? ▾

You pay a $5 fee per day, added to the rental. In the event of an incident that damages the trailer, you or your insurance are only responsible for the first $1,000.

Can I decline the damage waiver? ▾

Yes, but only if you provide a certificate of insurance (COI) from your insurance company naming Tow-N-Go and our VIN as additional insured.

Will my personal insurance cover a trailer rental? ▾

The only way to know for certain is by contacting your insurance company directly and asking. Note that a COI would still be required even if your policy provides coverage.

6 Rental Policies

Mileage restrictions, cleaning, tire damage, and renter responsibilities.

Are there restrictions on destinations or mileage? ▾

Trailers may not be taken out of state and must be returned to our location at 2283 McCaleb Rd, Montgomery, TX 77316. Rentals are restricted to the State of Texas, and each moving trailer is equipped with a GPS tracking system.

Can I travel on toll roads? ▾

Renters are responsible for all toll violations, tickets, fees, permits, and fines incurred while operating the vehicle. We strongly recommend paying tolls promptly through the issuing toll agency's website, as late fees apply quickly. Tow-N-Go may charge administrative fees to process and pay a violation on your behalf.

Am I responsible for returning the trailer clean? ▾

Trailers don't need to come back pristine, but please be courteous when returning. Any trailer returned with an excessive amount of mud, sand, trash, or dirt may be assessed a cleaning fee, minimum $50, depending on the cleaning time required.

What is the tire damage policy? ▾

If a tire is damaged during your rental, notify us immediately. Tire damage is not covered by rental protection, meaning repair or replacement costs are your responsibility. We offer 24-hour roadside assistance for a fee to help with the process, and you may be able to file a claim with your own insurance afterward for reimbursement of excess charges.

What am I responsible for when renting a trailer? ▾

Renters are responsible for:

  • Any damage to the trailer during the rental period
  • All repair or replacement costs during that period
  • Any tire damage, including blowouts
  • Rental cost during any period the trailer is being repaired or replaced

7 Horse Trailer Questions

Do I need a special license to tow a horse trailer? ▾

In most states, a standard driver's license is sufficient to tow a horse trailer, as long as you stay within weight limits. Always check your state's regulations before renting.

What kind of vehicle do I need to tow a horse trailer? ▾

Most 2-horse bumper-pull trailers can be towed with a half-ton truck or larger. Gooseneck trailers typically require a ¾-ton truck or bigger with the proper hitch setup.

Do rental trailers come with tack storage? ▾

Yes, many horse trailer rentals include tack rooms, saddle racks, and bridle hooks to keep your equipment organized.
